Dr Mathieson graduated from Monash University in 1992. He qualified as a Specialist Anaesthetist in 2002 having completed his training through the Alfred hospital, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Since qualifying Dr Mathieson has worked in both public and private practice. He currently works at the Mercy Hospital for Women and also several private hospitals across Melbourne, including St Vincent’s Private, Epworth Richmond, Cabrini Malvern, Western Private, Warringal Private, Glenferrie Private and Peninsula Private Hospital.

His areas of interest include Orthopaedic Surgery, Spinal Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Urology, Endoscopy, and Ambulatory surgery.

Dr Mathieson participates in ongoing Professional Development with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and is a member of the Australian Medical Association.
