Dr Alexandra Evans

Dr Evans graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 1988. She undertook her specialist training in anaesthesia through The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, which she completed in 1999.

Dr Evans has continued her close association with The Alfred Hospital Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine as a Visiting Medical Officer and VMO representative on the Department Executive Committee.

Dr Evans also works regularly at Cabrini Hospital Malvern and Hobson's Bay Endoscopy Centres. She was the anaesthesia representative on the Blood Transfusion Committee, Cabrini from 2001-2011.

Dr Evans' area of special interest is anaesthesia for surgery on the liver, biliary tree, pancreas and spleen, including anaesthesia for rare neuroendocrine tumours including patients with Carcinoid Syndrome. She is author of a book chapter entitled 'Carcinoid Syndrome' in the textbook 'Perioperative Medicine for the Junior Clinician'.

Dr Evans is an active participant in the Continuing Professional Development Program run by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
